Reflecting on 4 Decades of Cornerstone Architects
Category: Welcome
With the launch of our new website, it feels an apt moment to pause and reflect on the past 36 years of Cornerstone Architects. The architectural landscape is one that continually evolves – shaped by new technologies, materials, and ideas – and it can be all too easy to stay focused on what lies ahead without taking the time to look back.
As we revisited our portfolio, exploring the breadth of projects that best represent the dedication and craft of the Cornerstone Architects team and the contractors we have worked with, we are remined not only of the resilience of our designs, but also the enduring character of the Isle of Man itself. Our work has always been deeply rooted in the island’s unique environment – a setting that continues to inspire and challenge us in equal measure.
From projects such as Port Jack public facilities and Auldyn School, to the Annie Gill extension at University College Isle of man, and the much-love Vellikas in Ramsey – each stand as a testament to the commitment of our team and the communities we serve. And, of course, these are just a few among many that have shaped our practice over the decades.
While we are immensely excited about the projects currently in development – and those yet to come – we also take pride in the body of work that has brought us to where we are today. Every project, past and present, contributes to our continued growth and understanding as architects.
Over the last 36 years, much has changed: regulations, aesthetics, materials, and the built environment itself. Yet one thing has remained constant – our dedication to realising our clients’ visions and creating architecture that endures.
